As SOCES PTA continues to prepare for the beginning of the school year, we appreciate those who have expressed interest in serving as Class Ambassadors. As grass-roots PTA representatives, your involvement as Ambassadors helps us understand and communicate on issues facing our parents, our children and our schools.
While a recent post on the South Orangetown Parents Facebook page about signing up for Class Ambassadors indicated the sign-up is open, please note this is not first come, first served. Volunteers are picked at random. If you are signing up of multiple classes you must give a preference; we want to give everyone an opportunity to get involved. You also need to be a PTA member; if you are not already, please scroll down to pay your dues through PayPal.
In addition, SOCES PTA is looking for volunteers to serve as program coordinators, event coordinators, committee chairpersons and as representatives on SOCSD committees, including Building Level Teams, Curriculum Council, etc. More information on these opportunities will be backpacked home the first week of school. If a leadership position seems too big of a commitment, we hope you will consider volunteering your time in small ways. If a parent volunteers just three hours per school year, all of our programs and events would have the support they need to be a great success

Now, more than ever, your voice is needed. Please visit our new Advocacy page (see the drop-down menu above) for details on how you can contact our elected officials and tell them enough is enough.
