Do you know someone who has made outstanding contributions to our schools? Someone who has been a powerful voice for our children? Each year the PTAs of South Orangetown CSD honor those who work to improve the lives of children with the PTA Founders Day Award. Nominations are being accepted through the first week of January. Download and return the Nomination Form to your school by January 14th. Nominees will be honored at the South Orangetown Founders Day Dinner February 24, 2015. Learn more about Founders Day
SOCES PTA RIF presents...The World of Reading Contest
Get out your drawing materials! The SOCES PTA “Reading is Fundamental” (RIF) Committee is pleased to invite all SOCES students in Grades K through 5 to enter a Drawing Contest as part of our RIF Motivational Program.
When you close your eyes and think about your world of reading and all the books you have read, what do you see? Draw a picture of how you see the world of reading.
Size: Use white paper or poster board. It should be at least 8½ x 11 inches and no larger than 12 x 15 inches.
Materials: Paints, markers, pencils, crayons. No digital art or photos.
Write a sentence describing your picture on the FRONT of your poster.
Do NOT write your name on the front of your poster. Complete the ENTRY FORM and tape it to the BACK of your poster.
Only one entry per student, please.
Posters will be displayed, judged and prizes will be awarded at the RIF book distribution in each SOCES school during January. All entries will be acknowledged.
Place entry in the “RIF Posters” box in your school’s main office by 3:00pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Help SOCES PTA Advocate for Your Children
